Mostly my mother make pink lentil ( masoor daal) but some time she mix it with yellow lentil ( mong ) .
Mostly we eat with rice but some time especially in summer she serve with roti
I'm diabetic patient ,for diabetic patients rice and wheat is not good , so when I control my diet I eat daal like a soup. Because it is good nutritional food.

Ingredients and spices that need to be Take to make Mong and masoor daal (soup):

  1. 1/2 cup daal mong
  2. 1 cup daal masoor
  3. 3,4 garlic cloves
  4. 1 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  5. 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
  6. Salt to taste
  7. 1 Tablespoon Cilantro leaves
  8. Green Chillies for garnish
  9. Tarka
  10. Oil as required
  11. 1 Garlic cloves sliced
  12. 1 whole dried red chilli
  13. Water as required

Steps to make Mong and masoor daal (soup)

  1. Mix the daal add in pan with water
  2. Chopped garlic add in daal, add all spices
  3. Cover with lid and let simmer it
  4. After about half hour daal will be smooth and creamy texture,make tarka and put in daal
    Garnish the daal with cilantro and green or red chilli
    Serve with roti or rice
    If you like to eat like a soup then dont make tarka.
