  1. Medium sized butternut/squash
  2. 1 large onion
  3. 1/2 Tspn of cumin powder
  4. 1 Tspn of mixed herbs
  5. 1/2 Tspn of black pepper
  6. to taste Salt
  7. 1 Tspn of ground fresh ginger
  8. Cooking oil

Instructions to make Homemade butternut soup

  1. Wash, peel and dice butternut.
  2. Chop onions and ginger separately.
  3. Add cooking oil in your pan/pot, on medium heat and add in onions until soft and then add ground fresh ginger and stir until browning starts.
  4. Add in diced butternut/squash, mixed herbs, black pepper, and cumin powder into the onions. Stir to mix all ingredients, cover and let it cook under low heat for 15 mins.

  6. Use vegetable stock, or warm water, boiled in the same pan used to cook your butternut in, to blend your butternut with. (Shortcut if you don't have stock🤭 or forgot to prepare)
  7. Add your "flavour infused boiled water" or stock depending on your preferred soup consistency.
